Before and after every use. Turn Rattle inside out, wash it with warm water and a mild unscented soap, then let it air dry completely before it goes away.
Store it in the pouch it came in, somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Drying it fully is the part people skip, and it is the part that matters most.
You have to. Rattle is not designed to be used dry. The strawberry lube in this pack is water based and made for it.
Water based only. Oil and silicone based lubes break down the material over time, so keep those away from it.
